The Port Police and Security Department (Port PD) strives to provide the maritime commerce community with security and law enforcement services that are focused on stopping or limiting the effects of terrorism. The department provides a layered security structure.

Working Together
The Security Department has made strides in advancing security by establishing strict access control measures, conducting patrols, investigating suspicious activity and increasing awareness among employees and tenants which enhance our ability to protect property, lives, and livelihoods for the community.
Our sworn law enforcement and unsworn security officers and surveillance analyst dispatchers have a long and impressive track record of successful joint operations with all local, state, and federal law enforcement partners, which creates a formidable Homeland Security support structure by both land and water for the Port of Corpus Christi’s seven-country service area.
Marine Security
The Port of Corpus Christi Police Department Officers are responsible for enforcing all the laws and ordinances within the jurisdiction of the Port of Corpus Christi, including its commercial operations, docks and marinas, recreational, residential and neighboring areas. Officers may also be involved with other programs such as participation in dive operations, sea marshal operations, detectives or having roles in narcotics, cargo theft or anti-terrorism task forces.
Response, Action, Partnership
Port PD’s Marine Unit, together with the Corpus Christi Fire Department, are the Port of Corpus Christi’s first line of response for ship collisions, sinking vessels, HAZMAT spills and more. The personnel and equipment fight marine and land fires and respond to other emergencies throughout the Corpus Christi Ship Channel.

The mission of the Port of Corpus Christi Authority Police Department is to meet the Port of Corpus Christi’s objectives for the safety and well-being of its employees, tenants and customers.
