La Quinta Trade Gateway offers multi-purpose development opportunities and is currently zoned for industry. The La Quinta multi-purpose facility is approximately 1,300 acres located on the La Quinta Ship Channel. The development of the facility was originally envisioned to include a state-of-the-art multi-purpose dock in addition to providing industrial space for such tenants as ArcelorMittal (ex-voestalpine Texas), and the Gulf Compress Cotton Storage.
The La Quinta “multi-purpose facility” was initially developed in 2012 and has since grown to include Port of Corpus Christi customers such as ArcelorMittal (formerly voestalpine), Vopak, Gulf Coast Growth Ventures and Cheniere. Approximately 55 acres of land is still available for further development.
Location
La Quinta Trade Gateway – situated in San Patricio County, on the north side of Corpus Christi Bay – spans more than five nautical miles of waterway connecting the La Quinta Channel to the Corpus
Christi Ship Channel. La Quinta Gateway is located within the city limits of Portland, Ingleside and Ingleside on the Bay.
Features
With direct access to major highway systems such as I-37, US 181 and State Highway 35, La Quinta Trade Gateway also features railroad connectivity to Union Pacific Railroad (UP), with access to two other class-1 railroads within 11 miles. Waterfront access includes Oil Dock 50, serving Gulf Coast Growth Ventures tankers, ArcelorMittal’s mini capesize dry bulk vessels and Corpus Christi Liquefaction LNG tankers.
Planning
Expansion of the La Quinta Trade Gateway is expected to continue into the coming years as the Port of Corpus Christi continues to expand its energy portfolio.
