Port of Corpus Christi Announces Third Quarter and Nine-Month Tonnage Records

Oct 20, 2026

Corpus Christi, TX, USA – Port of Corpus Christi customers moved a record 52.4 million tons of commodities through the Corpus Christi Ship Channel during the third quarter of 2026, a 3% increase over the previous third-quarter record of 50.9 million tons set in 2025. The first nine months of 2026 also marked the strongest nine-month period in Port history, with customers moving 162.7 million tons of commodities, surpassing the previous record of 153.3 million tons set during the same period in 2025 by 6.1%.

Growth during the third quarter was driven by strong performance across several commodity categories. Liquefied natural gas volumes increased 46.2% to 6.6 million tons, while NGL rose 23.7% to 525,761 tons. Dry bulk commodities increased 20.9% to 2.1 million tons; other bulk liquids grew 7.8% to 4.1 million tons, and refined products increased 3.7% to 8.5 million tons compared with the third quarter of 2025.

These gains were partially offset by lower volumes in breakbulk cargo, which declined 94.7% to 17,041 tons and agricultural commodities, which decreased 69% to 192,533 tons. Crude oil shipments totaled 30.4 million tons, a 2.8% decrease from the third quarter of 2025.
