Port Corpus Christi’s Position Increasingly Important in Providing Access to World Markets

Dec 05, 2017

Port Corpus Christi continues to support the growth of our nation’s energy industry with access to global markets, and is already the leading crude oil export port.  Currently over 70% of Port Corpus Christi’s total outbound crude oil is shipped to export markets where US producers receive premium prices for the light sweet crude oil from the Eagle Ford, Permian Basin, and other shale plays.

Port Corpus Christi’s Chief Commercial Officer, Jarl Pedersen, spoke at the Hart Energy DUG Eagle Ford Conference in San Antonio recently.  The San Antonio Express News followed the event with this story – “Foreign markets want Texas oil, say experts.”
