Port Corpus Christi Sponsors AMBUCS in Support of Local Six Year Old Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy Patient

Corpus Christi, TX, USA – Port Corpus Christi helps to provide support for a Driscoll Children’s Hospital patient with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. Six year old, Brandon Quintanilla was fitted with an AmTryke adaptive tricycle on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. Brandon, his Physical Therapist, and his family will bring his AmTryke to the Port Corpus Christi Commission Meeting to meet Commissioners and share how he uses the tricycle on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, 8:30 AM at the Congressman Solomon Ortiz International Center, 402 Harbor Drive.

Port Corpus Christi is sponsoring an AMBUCS project helping to provide Brandon with the new AmTryke tricycle to continue his therapy at home. AMBUCS is a national charitable service organization helping to create mobility and independence for people with disabilities. Brandon’s Physical Therapist states that he greatly enjoys riding the adaptive tricycles during his therapy time, and she would love for him to have a tricycle at home. Having the AmTryke at home will allow Brandon to work on strengthening his body while having fun, and enabling him to interact with his older brother.

Partnering with AMBUCS provides our port a special opportunity to support this vibrant six year old, Brandon Quintanilla, in achieving greater mobility. We are proud to help Brandon have his own adaptive tricycle, said Charles Zahn, Port Corpus Christi Commission Chair.
