Apr 11, 2018
Corpus Christi, TX, USA – The Port of Corpus Christi is a presenting sponsor of the 3rd Latin America Ports Forum held in Panama City, Panama on Wednesday, April 11 and Thursday, April 12. The Latin America Ports Forum is the leading ports and logistics conference for the Americas.
Port of Corpus Christi Chief Executive Officer, Sean Strawbridge is participating in the forum as a speaker, highlighting the role the Port of Corpus Christi plays in facilitating the continued expansion of U.S. energy exports to an audience made up of port authorities, terminal operators, infrastructure, transportation and logistics companies, financial institutions and engineering firms representing strategic projects throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
Specifically, Mr. Strawbridge will share progress made on the Port of Corpus Christi’s Ship Channel Improvement Project, which was included in the proposed FY19 Presidential Budget earlier this year. The expansion, which is expected to be complete in 2021, will support the U.S. energy industry’s rapid growth and ensure their products reach the global market, including Latin America. Already, the Port of Corpus Christi facilitates over 60 percent of U.S. crude oil exports, while Cheniere’s Corpus Christi LNG export facility is due to come online later this year.
During the two-day conference, industry experts from Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, the United States, and Central America, will discuss evolving business opportunities related to ports in Latin America. Significant attention is placed on infrastructure projects that will increase capacity in the region, and how ports and terminal operators are adapting to the continuous changes underway in the world and regional trade.
