Port of Corpus Christi Names Yudi Takizawa Chief Commercial Officer

Jul 16, 2026

Corpus Christi, TX, USA – The Port of Corpus Christi has named Yudi Takizawa Chief Commercial Officer, effective July 13, 2026, as part of a strategic organizational realignment that strengthens the Port’s focus on commercial growth, customer engagement and long-term value creation.

The appointment also allows for greater specialization across the Port’s executive leadership team. For the past six years, business development activities have operated under the leadership of Chief External Affairs Officer Omar Garcia, who successfully balanced responsibility for both commercial development and external affairs while helping drive business growth and stakeholder engagement.

Garcia will continue serving as Chief External Affairs Officer, overseeing Strategic Communications, Marketing, Branding, Community Affairs and Government Relations. He also will establish a new International Business Development Department focused on expanding global opportunities, strengthening relationships with consulates and key trading partners, and overseeing the Port’s Foreign Trade Zone and Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz International Center.

In this newly created executive role, Takizawa will lead the Port’s Commercial and Business Development, Real Estate, Business Intelligence and Commercial Logistics & Transportation functions, bringing key customer-facing operations together under a unified commercial organization.

Most recently, Takizawa served as the Port’s Director of Commercial and Business Development, where he played a key role in advancing strategic partnerships, cultivating new business opportunities and supporting growth across the Port’s commercial portfolio. Since joining the Port in 2022, he has leveraged more than two decades of international experience in commercial strategy, market development and business growth to help position the Port for continued success.

“I am honored to assume the role of Chief Commercial Officer and continue serving the Port of Corpus Christi and our valued customers,” said Yudi Takizawa, incoming Chief Commercial Officer for the Port of Corpus Christi. “As global markets continue to evolve, the Port is uniquely positioned to continue driving economic growth through its world-class infrastructure, strong industry partnerships and strategic commercial development. I look forward to working alongside our talented team, customers and stakeholders to drive strategic growth, enhance commercial value, unlock market opportunities and advance innovative initiatives that support the Port’s long-term vision for sustainable and responsible growth.”

The new structure supports Port of Corpus Christi Chief Executive Officer Kent Britton’s vision of strengthening the Port’s commercial foundation while maintaining a strategic focus on infrastructure investment and operational excellence.

“Our success depends on maintaining a disciplined balance between two priorities: establishing strong commercial agreements that create value for our customers and stakeholders, and ensuring we continue to invest in, maintain and protect the infrastructure that makes this Port successful,” said Kent Britton, Chief Executive Officer for the Port of Corpus Christi. “Yudi’s commercial expertise, strategic mindset and ability to build trusted relationships make him exceptionally well-positioned to lead our commercial organization as we continue creating sustainable growth opportunities while advancing our vision to be the most efficient and innovative port in North America.”
