Corpus Christi, TX, USA – In response to Hurricane Nicholas making landfall near Sargent Beach, Texas, the Port of Corpus Christi has returned to normal operations, effective 6:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in accordance with its 2021 Hurricane Readiness Plan. The Port continues to monitor possible impact scenarios from Hurricane Nicholas in and around the Texas Coastal Bend region; however, all initial reports indicate no significant impacts.

The Port remains engaged in seasonal hurricane readiness activities in coordination with surrounding communities, industry partners and state and federal agencies. The Port Incident Management Team has deactivated but remains in an ever-ready status. All Port of Corpus Christi users shall immediately adhere to the requirements and recommendations set forth in any forthcoming United States Coast Guard (USCG) Marine Safety Information Bulletins.

The National Weather Service and National Hurricane Center have cancelled all tropical warnings for South Texas and the Middle Texas coast. Coastal flooding, elevated winds and waves continue for marine areas, but are expected to improve as the day progresses.

The USCG Captain of Sector Port Corpus Christi (CoTP) set Port Condition Recovery, and the Port of Corpus Christi was released from Port Condition X-Ray, effective noon, on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, returning to Port Condition Seasonal Alert. There are no restrictions for vessels in Port of Corpus Christi.
