Captain Andrea Morrison confirmed as first female Deputy Branch Pilot

Captain Andrea Morrison was confirmed as a Deputy Branch Pilot at the April meeting of the Pilot Board of the Port of Corpus Christi Authority.

Captain Andrea Morrison was confirmed as the first female Deputy Branch Pilot at the April 2017 Pilot Board meeting.

Captain Morrison is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York, and has sailed aboard several liquid bulk carriers that have called Port Corpus Christi.

As a Deputy Branch Pilot, Captain Morrison will dedicate her attention to learning the challenging dynamics of our waterway, including new terminals and channel extensions during a 120 day riding observer period.  With successful testing and completion of observer period, Captain Morrison will be presented to the Port Corpus Christi Pilot Board for a formal request to the State of Texas Governor for approval as a Deputy Branch Pilot of the Port Corpus Christi Waterways.
